Denver, the Mile High City, is one of the most beautiful cities in the United States.
Located at the base of the Rocky Mountains, Denver has all of the amenities of an urban city surrounded by natural beauty. Denver is composed of an array of diverse neighborhoods, and most of the neighborhoods surrounding Denver Health itself are highly walkable and bike-able.
It boasts an ideal climate with an average of more than 300 days of sunshine each year. It is a state of true seasons with crisp fall days, beautiful, snowy winters, warm springs, and sun-filled summers. It is not uncommon to have a large snowstorm followed abruptly by a day warm enough for shorts and flip-flops.
For the outdoor enthusiast, Colorado has much to offer every season of the year. The winter months offer a myriad of activities including world-class skiing and snowboarding. There are a number of mountain resorts, some as little as one hour from Denver. In addition, many locations offer backcountry skiing, snowshoeing and ice climbing.
In the summer months, there is excellent hiking including the largest roster of "fourteeners" in the continental United States. Colorado is home to 54 mountain peaks greater than 14,000 feet in elevation. Additionally, hundreds of miles of varied mountain terrain offer challenging rock climbing and outstanding mountain biking and day hikes. Countless rivers, streams and lakes offer fishing, kayaking and white-water rafting as well.
