Welcome to our Mile-High Experience! This information is meant to provide you with a sense of life on the doorstep of the Rocky Mountains. We want to highlight the diversity of the community that we serve and the variety of cultural and recreational experiences available to you in Denver.
Whether you seek outstanding restaurants, the arts and museums, music venues, or the great outdoors, living in Denver welcomes and has something for everyone! Neighborhoods in Denver tend to be laid-back while providing walkable or bikeable options for shopping and short commutes to our four main institutions. We have included two videos below to provide you an overview of life in the Colorado and the Mile High City.

Denver Neighborhoods
Denver neighborhoods have something for everyone! From Capitol Hill, which hosts eight of Denver’s cultural museums and several coffeehouses and specialty stores, to Five Points, one of Denver’s oldest and most diverse neighborhoods, once called the “Harlem of the West.” Consider LoDo for hip restaurants, nightclubs, and a Rockies game or RiNo for jazz bars and brewpubs in re-purposed industrial buildings along the annual installations of murals in “Crush Walls”. Along Federal Boulevard in near west Denver, authentic Asian markets and unpretentious Vietnamese restaurants abound in Little Saigon alongside amazing Mexican and Italian restaurants. The trendy neighborhood of Highlands boasts fantastic views of downtown, renovated
bungalows, and Little Man Ice Cream, arguably one of the best places in Denver to scoop up some dessert.
Things to Do in Denver
Denver is a rapidly growing city, and with that influx of people comes a strong food and beverage game. Denver’s food scene is one of the best up and coming in the country. For example, the northwest edge of Denver is home to the Berkeley neighborhood, a quaint corner of town filled with couples and their young families as well as longtime Denver residents who prefer to live among tree-laden streets and an abundance of parks. At the heart of Berkeley is a stretch of restaurants, bars, and galleries known as the Tennyson Arts District. On the music front, the only naturally-occurring acoustically perfect amphitheater in the world, Red Rocks is one of the most famous music venues in the country. Aside from Red Rocks, Denver boasts multiple notable music venues. On any given night, you can find any type of music including jam bands, indie, jazz, and bluegrass bands playing at spots like The Ogden, Fillmore, Bluebird, Dazzle or Hi-Dive. In the summertime, City Park hosts Jazz in the Park. Every Sunday, thousands of people gather in the park for free music and festivities.
